Welcome to The Teddy Bear Chest – home to a lovely selection of old teddy bears dating from 1902 to 1940, including, Steiff, Farnell, Bing, Strunz, Chiltern, Chad Valley and many more.

Please note that a layaway service is available for most of the teddies and toys, so please contact me for further details.

I have datelined my selection because teddies from the earlier decades are my personal favourites, although I do love later teddy bears, too. 

Top Drawer Teddy Bears

In the Top Drawer section you will find some fabulous teddy bears in virtually mint condition and looking every bit as wonderful as they did the day they were born!

To qualify as Top Drawer bears, these fine old teddies need to have at least 80% of their fur and have few, if any, repairs or alterations. Wherever possible, Top Drawer teddies will have been created by a clearly identifiable manufacturer and I aim to include quality vintage teddy bears from Steiff, Bing, Farnell, Dean’s, Merrythought, Chad Valley, Jopi, Ideal, Terry, Chiltern and so on.

Bottom Drawer Teddy Bears

The Bottom Drawer bears are every bit as special and precious as their Top Drawer friends, only they have been extremely well loved and played with during their long lives – as you will see when you open their drawer!

The Treasure Chest

The Treasure Chest is always well worth a visit because I generally have some very fine novelty items on offer -  suitable gifts, props or display pieces for your old teddy bear, including antique furniture, clothes and accessories.
